Manuel W. Ruiz, Jr., President and founder of MWR Development, Inc., d.b.a., MWR Engineering was born in Glendale, CA in 1970. In the summer of 1986, his Father Manuel W. Ruiz, Sr., an L.A. based Engineer, had allowed Manuel, Jr. to help construction crews in the remodeling of their West Hills, CA home. This was the beginning of a lifelong passion of construction for Manuel, Jr.. Some of his favorite hobbies are, marveling at and researching the history of modern and historical buildings in U.S.A. and Europe, martial arts and spending quality time with his wife and baby daughter.

Manuel began his career in the construction industry in 1988. He started working as a laborer for an L.A. based construction firm, and worked hard to achieve Foreman status. Later went on to include estimating and project management, to his portfolio.

With a desire to open his own business he first obtained his General Contractors license with the State of California in 2002, and immediately started in concrete foundations for residential room additions throughout L.A. and Orange Counties.

Since then Manuel W. Ruiz, Jr. went on to obtain his General Engineering license with the State of California. He now holds two licenses A - General Engineering, and B - General Contracting.

Although MWR Engineering is highly capable of performing building foundations on flat ground. Manuel and his company prefer the more challenging aspects of hillside foundations, and retaining walls, that they have grown accustomed to.
